Building Process

  1. Permitting: Ray Built Quality Homes will submit plans to the municipality for approval.
  2. Pre-Construction Meeting: A Ray Built Homes Representative will go over the construction process with you, explain what to expect, and answer any questions you may have.
  3. Lot Preparation: Your lot will be prepared and the foundation will be poured.
  4. Framing and Roof: The skeleton of your home will go up and your house will be sheathed, windows will be installed and your roof will be dried in. At this point during construction a lot of activity will happen all at once.
  5. Mechanical Installation: HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical Rough will go in. At this stage you will see your HVAC duct work go in, your water lines run through the walls and all electrical wiring installed.
  6. Insulation and Polyseal: The exterior walls of your home will be insulated and polyseal will be installed around windows and other penetrations. This plays a critical role in the energy efficiency of your home.
  7. Exterior Finishes: Exterior finishes such as brick will go up and you will begin to see the beautiful curb appeal of your home.
  8. Sheetrock, Paint and Trim: Sheetrock will be installed and finished, cabinets, interior doors and trim will be installed and the interior home will be painted.
  9. Tile and Countertops: Your selections of kitchen and bath tile will be installed as well as your granite selections.
  10. Mechanical Trims: Your plumbing and electrical fixtures will be installed and you will also see your appliances go in.
  11. Flooring Installed: The remainder of your flooring will be installed and your house will start to resemble your home.
  12. Sod and Landscape: Your lot will have a final grade done and your sod and landscape will be installed.
  13. Final Paint and Clean: Touch up painting will occur on both the interior and exterior and your house will receive its final cleaning.
  14. Quality Control: Your Ray Built Quality Homes construction manager will do a quality control inspection of your home and the City will do their final inspections.
  15. Homeowner Walk: You will do an orientation walk with your construction manager where you will get to know how your new home operates as well as a sign off walk.
  16. Closing: After all walks and sign off have occurred it’s time to close and move in to your beautiful new Ray Built Quality Home!
